I was in Seattle last weekend, visiting a couple of my friends. So, she suggested that we go to Snoqualmie falls later that day, and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful place for this shoot. It is approximately 29 miles from downtown Seattle, the drive to this place was gorgeous! We were greeted with warm welcome by the cherry blossoms on our road to the falls, and I was awestruck by the picturesque location. As we made our way down to the falls, we could feel the mist from far away! (Which made my hair go crazy, and it is the sole reason that you see me in braid for the very first time! :P) It was too beautiful for words to describe. Very calming, and serene! I just wanted to sit, and admire the beauty of nature without having to do much. But, this was the best photo opportunity I had, and I wasn’t going to let it pass! It is undisputedly one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen so far, and a must see tourist attraction if you’re ever in Seattle! Ok! Enough of this banter, moving on to the look.
I’ve always loved mixing classic pieces with edgier pieces to create a unique look, which is why I created this look! I wore this edgy houndstooth print moto jacket with a plain pink shirt for a nice feminine touch. I got this jacket about 4 years ago when, I lived in UK for a really cheap price. I might have just worn it once, and this was the second time.
“Interesting fact: Houndstooth is a two-toned textile pattern, Scottish by origin, characterized by broken checks, and most often designed in black and white. The print does in fact have something to do with its canine-sounding name — which was inspired by the uneven shape of a hound dog’s teeth”
This old-school pattern, which made its first real appearance in the 1930s, is having a major comeback. This print is both current, and classic, with its contrasting tone, and distinctive pattern. Above all, I happened to get this really cute, and quirky briefcase sling bag in the same print! The timeless houndstooth print on a jacket, the quirky briefcase sling (The odds of same print on the bag I tell you!), and the ultra feminine pink shirt over a staple blue jeans, had my name written all over it and I couldn’t help but combine all these pieces together to arrive it this casual yet chic look!! It was just calling out loud! To make this look even better, I adorned a layered dainty necklace, and paired this look with a pink floral flats. Just like that I had a uber chic look!
That’s all for today folks! I hope you enjoyed this post, as much as I enjoyed shooting, and blogging about it.
